Robot Project

Reading/Writing Students will draw a picture of their robot.

They will present their design to the class.
Students will draw a picture of their robot. They will write a paragraph about their robot.

They will present their design to the class.
Students will research a school problem that can be solved with a robot and write a 5-paragraph essay about it.

This robot does not need to be the one that is being built as the students are just learning to program.
Math Students will explore code.org and/or codecombat.com to learn the basics of drag-n-drop coding. Students will explore advanced topics on code.org and/or codecombat.com to learn more techniques of drag-n-drop coding. Students will begin using Lego Mindstorm EV3 or NXT programs to learn more advanced coding either with blocks or scripting.
The Arts Students will build a 3D model of their robot out of either legos or recycled materials (cereal boxes, etc). Students will build a 3D model of their robot out of either legos or recycled materials (cereal boxes, etc). Students will build a robot out of Lego bricks that is controlled by their programming.
       
  Students will keep a journal of programming notes each year.
